Michael Scott, a 34-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., has been indicted by a D.C. Superior Court grand jury on four charges following an incident in October 2025 involving two women. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

Scott faces one count each of first-degree burglary, assault, destruction of property, and resisting arrest. The indictment alleges that on October 25, 2025, Scott entered the home of a woman identified as Victim 1 with the intent to assault his ex-romantic partner, referred to as Victim 2, who was also present in the apartment. Upon entering, Scott reportedly broke down a bedroom door and assaulted and threatened Victim 2.

Authorities note that Scott has two previous convictions for crimes of violence.

Interim Chief Jeffery Carroll of the Metropolitan Police Department joined in announcing the indictment. The Metropolitan Police Department is conducting the investigation, while Assistant U.S. Attorney Olivis Hinerfeld is prosecuting the case.

U.S. Attorney Pirro emphasized: “An indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.”
