Deshawn Raphael Loggins, 24, of Capitol Heights, Maryland, was found guilty on September 18 in U.S. District Court for drug trafficking and firearm possession offenses. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

A federal jury reached its verdict after a four-day trial and more than a day of deliberation. Loggins, also known as “Dae Dae,” was convicted of unlawful possession with intent to distribute at least 28 grams of crack cocaine, unlawful possession with intent to distribute oxycodone, and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.

Judge Dabney L. Friedrich has scheduled sentencing for January 13, 2026.

According to court documents, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded on June 6, 2024, to complaints at a building in the 100 block of Atlantic Street SE. Officers observed Loggins among four individuals in the hallway vestibule. Near Loggins’ chair were items including promethazine-codeine in another person’s name and a black drawstring bag. A clear bag containing three grams of suspected crack cocaine was found nearby along with loose cash on stairs. Through an open apartment door officers saw additional suspected drugs, blue zips in plastic bags, more cash, and a digital scale.

Loggins was arrested at the scene and searched outside the building. Officers recovered $1,689 in cash from his pockets along with a key fob for a rented Dodge Charger parked nearby. After a police canine alerted to the vehicle during an exterior sniff search, officers searched the car’s center console where they found a firearm with an extended magazine, about 50 grams of crack cocaine in a plastic bag, and 177 assorted oxycodone pills.

At the time of these offenses Loggins had recently been released from prison following an earlier conviction for drug trafficking and was under federal supervised release. In October 2022 he had been sentenced to over three years’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine base; he admitted responsibility for selling between 28 grams and 112 grams.

The investigation involved Homeland Security Investigations’ Washington field office with support from agencies including Customs and Border Protection, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF), as well as assistance from the Metropolitan Police Department. Assistant United States Attorneys Iris Y. McCranie and Michael L. Barclay are prosecuting the case.

“Jeanine Ferris Pirro announced that Deshawn Raphael Loggins was found guilty on Thursday,” according to official statements.
