Antoine Turner, 32, of Washington, DC, has been sentenced to 26 years in prison for the murder of Demeitri Anderson in the BENCO Shopping Plaza on November 29, 2020. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.
Turner pleaded guilty to second degree murder on September 5, 2025, in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. His plea agreement included a recommended sentence range of 240 to 312 months and five years of supervised release. Judge Michael Ryan accepted the agreement and imposed a sentence of 312 months.
According to evidence presented by the government, Turner drove a rented red Nissan Versa to the area near B Street SE and parked before walking toward the BENCO Shopping Plaza at 4528 Benning Rd SE. At approximately 12:38 p.m., he approached Anderson from behind outside Ken’s Beauty Supply and shot him multiple times in the back of the head and body.
Interim Chief Jeffery Carroll of the Metropolitan Police Department joined U.S. Attorney Pirro in announcing the sentence. Both officials recognized investigators from the Metropolitan Police Department and staff from the U.S. Attorney’s Office who contributed to the case, including Paralegal Specialist Kelly Blakeney and Victim/Witness Advocate Jennifer Clark.
They also commended Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrea Coronado for her work investigating and prosecuting the case.
