Antoine Turner, 32, of Washington, D.C., pleaded guilty to second-degree murder while armed in connection with the November 29, 2020 killing of Demeitri Anderson. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

The plea agreement, which requires court approval, recommends a prison sentence between 20 and 26 years, followed by five years of supervised release. Judge Michael Ryan accepted the factual basis for the plea and set sentencing for November 7, 2025.

According to facts presented at the hearing, Turner drove a rented red Nissan Versa to the area of B Street SE on November 29, 2020. He walked through nearby streets before entering an alley behind the BENCO shopping plaza at approximately 12:38 p.m. Turner then approached Anderson in front of Ken’s Beauty Supply at 4528 Benning Rd SE and shot him multiple times from behind.

A police officer stationed across the street witnessed the shooting and pursued Turner as he fled toward his vehicle. The officer saw Turner with an orange hood over his head and a gun in hand before Turner discarded the weapon and escaped in his car.

Turner has remained in custody since his arrest on December 3, 2020.

Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department joined U.S. Attorney Pirro in announcing the plea. The case is being investigated by members of the Metropolitan Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrea Coronado.

“Turner’s guilty plea, which was contingent upon the Court’s approval, called for an agreed-upon 20–26-year prison sentence, to be followed by five years of supervised release. The Honorable Michael Ryan accepted the factual basis for the plea and scheduled sentencing for November 7, 2025.”
