A Maryland man, Brandon Postow, 40, has been charged with distribution of child pornography, according to a complaint unsealed in U.S. District Court. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

Court documents indicate that beginning on January 15, 2026, Postow communicated with another individual on Telegram about his sexual interest in children. During these conversations, Postow, who also used the name “Michael Brandon Russell,” shared four videos depicting the sexual abuse of teenage and prepubescent boys. When the other user mentioned having a young son, Postow expressed interest in sexually abusing the child.

FBI Assistant Director in Charge Darren B. Cox of the Washington Field Office joined U.S. Attorney Pirro in announcing the charges.

The FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force is investigating the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Janani Iyengar is prosecuting it.

“This case was brought as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative. In February 2006, the Attorney General created Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse. Led by the U.S. Attorney’s Offices, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims,” according to information provided by authorities.

More details about Project Safe Childhood are available at www.projectsafechildhood.gov.

Authorities remind that charges in a complaint are allegations only and that all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
