Pete Serrano has been sworn in as the Interim United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington. His appointment was made by Attorney General Pam Bondi on August 6, 2025.

As Interim U.S. Attorney, Serrano will oversee the prosecution of federal crimes and manage civil litigation involving the United States in the Eastern District of Washington. He is responsible for a staff of about 79 people, including prosecutors, civil litigators, and support personnel working throughout Eastern Washington.

Serrano previously served as Mayor of Pasco, Washington. In 2021, he co-founded the Silent Majority Foundation, a nonprofit organization that advocates for civil liberties. He also held roles as Director and General Counsel at the foundation.

Between 2015 and 2018, Serrano worked as an attorney for the Department of Energy with a focus on environmental law. From 2018 to 2021, he was employed at Energy Northwest where he contributed to permitting small modular nuclear reactors.
